About Custom Video !

Custom Video was born 20 years ago by Andrea Blanc. "People didn't know that they could put pictures onto videotape, but they do now." Following appearances on Channel 7 and Channel 2, she received a hundred phone calls in 2 hours and a write-up in a major newspaper. Videos have been made for celebrities like Gale Sayers, Stedman Graham, Jack Brickhouse, Janet Davies and Soupy Sales. Custom Video is known by word of mouth from coast to coast.

When we reach back into our memories, the images that we conjure up appear in the form of movies, rather than stop action frames.

Grandpa and the family pooch, now both passed on, roll through our minds and as they roll together in the backyard. The thought of that first little league home run, barely clearing the left field fence, or of the giggling clan of friends at your high school graduation party. These memories manifest themselves into a continuous motion, as if seen on that old projector your uncle dredged up every Christmas.

Trouble is, in their tangible, physical form, memories are reduced to a series of Polaroid stills, unless one wants to forego their vacation and buy a mini-cam. Photographs, still in their original Kodak sleeves and buried under 15 years of tax returns need a little help to approach the emotions stored in your head.

And that's where Andrea Blanc comes in. Andy, as she is known by her many friends and customers, brings a service whereby people bring in their old photos, throw in sentimental clippings, menus, greeting cards. In short, "Anything that fits underneath a camera."

Add a little music, some graphics, special effects and voila! The happy customer has a keepsake videocassette. As Blanc says, "It's a way you can turn old memories into great movies."

What makes Custom Video different than a slide show is Blanc's technique. "I use special cameras, computer applications, special effects, add music, titles and 20 years of just knowing what my client wants"! All a customer has to do is to provide Blanc with the pictures, number them in the order they want them to appear in the video and assign the opening and closing title. The result now becomes a rush for the Kleenex. "It feels good to make someone feel so happy." This is a great way to get their memories out of the closet. Just pop the video or dvd in and it now becomes a unique gift or entertainment for any event. Andy Blanc and CUSTOM VIDEO can be reached by calling 312 664-5510.
